Forebearance. Patience. Longsuffering

The exercise of restraint. The quality of being patient and being able to forgive someone or control yourself in a difficult situation. For many of us this is a lot less exercised as a fruit of the spirit. We, like Min Marilyn, find we are impatient and intolerant of others and our seasons of difficulty. We often times forget where we have been and stand in judgement of others. We don't know how to forbear...bearing up one another. We don't know how to forgive and exercise restraint. We don't know how to control ourselves in a difficult situation. We don't know how to be patient. It doesn't make sense to the natural mind. Yes. we know it is hard to put into logic's and reasons. How does one gain from this? Well is it not written that as we wait we are strengthened? Wait and again i say wait. As we are waiting patiently we grow stronger. Read what Paul wrote in Romans 2, and be even more convinced that we have no excuses to judge others as God himself has forbearance and kindness towards us. Yes. You. Me. US. "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.... So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? Romans 2:1‭, ‬3‭-‬4 NIV http://bible.com/111/rom.2.1-4.NIV So now is the time to repent. Same message, different day. Let this word lead you to repentance before God. Lest we show contempt for his patience towards us, this is a good time to bow before Him.
